SOS is a non-governmental organization formed in the Maldives in 2006 to work for youth rights and child rights. Facilitate the participation of young people in the society through awareness and training.Increase the participation of young people in the society as well in decision making process.

Rights for All was officially registered in July 2007 with a mission to Create awareness on the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and other human rights standards and campaign for the prevention of violation of human rights.

Bluepeace is made up of concerned individuals who wish to ensure that the natural environment is used wisely and continues to be available for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations. Bluepeace was initiated by a young group and founded on 11th September of 1989.

The network is a peaceful civil-society initiative pursued by families of persons in detention in the Maldives. This initiative was born in late 2004 in response to popular concerns over police impunity and lack of judicial independence in the Maldives.
MALDIVES HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION

The Human Rights Commision's Act (Law No: 6/2006) provided for the establishment of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), as an independent legal entity having a common seal and the capacity to sue and be sued and enter into transactions in its own name.

Maldives Election Watch was launched in April 2008 and is committed to monitoring and working towards ensuring Free and Fair elections in the Maldives.

Care Society is a Non-Governmental Organization working for and with people with disabilities in Maldives. The aim of Care Society is to address the disability issues of the community; increasing public awareness and integrating people with disabilities into all areas of the community ensuring they are valued as individuals.

Wake Up is a national campaign in the Maldives aimed at preventing drug abuse and promoting recovery from drug addiction.

National Endowment for Democracy (NED)

The National Endowment for Democracy (NED) is a private, nonprofit organization created in 1983 to strengthen democratic institutions around the world through nongovernmental efforts. The Endowment is governed by an independent, nonpartisan board of directors. With its annual congressional appropriation, it makes hundreds of grants each year to support prodemocracy groups in Africa, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the former Soviet Union.
